The Northern Bluemont Manor is located on the western side of Hernand Town. This smaller stone building sits north of the main southern manor building. Head due south from the main plaza tree with the notice board to find it. Unlike the southern building, this location is not guarded and requires no key to access.

The strongbox is on the second floor in the southernmost room.

Puzzle Type: Rotating Owl Panels

This puzzle features a hexagonal prism with four sliding sections that form a picture of an owl. Four buttons below the prism rotate different combinations of panels. Your goal is to align all four sections to complete the owl image.

Solution

If you haven't touched any buttons yet, follow this sequence (numbering buttons 1-4 from left to right):

1. Press button 1 four times
2. Press button 2 four times
3. Press button 3 four times
4. Press button 4 one time

Southern Bluemont Manor

Location

The larger southern Bluemont Manor building sits between the butcher shop and the larger manor with the fountain to the west. All entrances are guarded, but you can access the strongbox room through a second-floor balcony door (which requires a key).

The strongbox is in a large room on the second floor's western side.

Puzzle Type: Piston Height Adjustment

This strongbox features five metal cylinders (pistons) with rotating calibration wheels beneath each one. The pistons must be raised to specific heights so that when you press the activation button on the right, all silver cylinder tops align above the wooden paneling line while the golden bottoms remain below it.

Solution

Remember: Every two thumb movements equals one segment on the wheel. Raise all wheels to their maximum position first, then lower them according to these instructions (numbering pistons 1-5 from left to right):

1. Lower piston 1 by 5 segments
2. Lower piston 2 by 2 segments
3. Lower piston 3 by 4 segments

Hillside Manor is located just below the eastern tip of Hernand Castle, positioned above the Church of Hernand. The main doors are heavily guarded, but you can bypass security by climbing through a southwest-facing window into a second-floor room.

Puzzle Type: Piston Height Adjustment

This strongbox uses the same piston calibration mechanism as the Southern Bluemont Manor. Five metal cylinders must be precisely adjusted using rotating wheels, then raised to align correctly when you press the activation button.

Solution

The solution follows the same principle as the Southern Bluemont piston puzzle. Raise all wheels to maximum, then lower each piston according to the specific measurements required. The outermost pistons require the most lowering, while the inner pistons need less adjustment.

Lioncrest Manor

Location

Lioncrest Manor is a sprawling estate on the far northwest outskirts of Hernand Town. Find it up the hill due west of Hernand Castle, with a large cliff at its back. The manor is crowded with NPCs and all entrances are well-guarded.

To access the strongbox, climb through a second-floor window around the back near the rear entrance. Once inside, head through the locked door on the southeastern side (not the double doors) to find the strongbox room.

Puzzle Type: Rotating Picture Fragments

This puzzle displays a misaligned picture of a girl with fairy wings, divided into nine rotating painting fragments. Your task is to rotate each fragment until they form a complete, properly aligned image.

Solution

Systematically rotate each of the nine painting fragments until the complete picture emerges. Start with the corner pieces to establish the frame, then work on the edges, and finally adjust the center pieces. The fragments click into place when correctly oriented.

3. Climb the stairs to the third floor
4. Find and unlock the locked door (requires a key)
5. Inside you'll find a bedroom with the strongbox

Puzzle Type: Musical Sequence

This advanced puzzle features eight piano-like keys arranged in two rows. You must tap the keys in a specific order to match a musical tune. The clue is built into the strongbox itself.

Finding the Solution

Wind up the gears on the side of the strongbox to hear a seven-note melody. Listen carefully and match the notes to the corresponding keys on the front panel. The tune repeats, so you can listen multiple times.
